• Fiction: Coach holidays are only for old people…. In fact, coach holidays cater for all ages. While many may be for older people there are lots of tours for all ages – concerts, theatre trips, sporting events, spa treatments and special interest tours
• Fiction: Coaches are cramped….In fact, modern coaches have more legroom than most planes and trains. Many coach companies also operate coaches with fewer seats to increase legroom.
• Fiction: Coaches are slow…In fact, most coach holidays are door-to-door or start near to your home. So unlike for an air holiday, there is no need to drive, park, take a bus, queue for check-in and security, wait for flights (which might be delayed)... and do it all over again at your destination and on your return
• Fiction: Coaches clog the roads….In fact a coach carries 40 or more people in the same road space as three cars – it moves people more effectively
Fiction: Coaches use a lot of fuel….In fact, a coach passenger will be travelling at least 200 miles for every gallon
• Fiction: Coach holidays involve hours stuck in your seat and can be boring….In fact coach holidays have 'comfort stops' every two or three hours while from a coach, you get the best view possible of the countryside and landmarks
• Fiction: Coach companies use cheap hotels….In fact, most coach holidays use 3-star hotels and many use 4-star hotels...but you will pay much less than if you travel independently
• Fiction: Coaches are not safe….In fact, coach travel is six times safer, per mile, than your family car |
